Terms of use
Draft. This page is under legal review and will be finalised before Equal Standard opens accounts and submissions.
About this site
Equal Standard is a proposed British Columbia not-for-profit. It is not yet incorporated or a registered charity. By using this site you agree to these terms.
Not legal advice
Information on this site, including the employment-rights pages, is general information. It is not legal advice and does not create a lawyer–client relationship. Rules and deadlines vary and change; check with the relevant agency or a lawyer before acting.
Accuracy and corrections
We check records before publishing them and correct errors when we find them. Inclusion in the archive is not a finding that anyone broke the law. If you think something is wrong, use our corrections process.
Acceptable use
You must not use this site or anything on it to:
- harass, threaten, dox or intimidate anyone, or encourage others to;
- pressure anyone’s employer, or organise campaigns against a named person;
- submit private or confidential information, or information you do not have the right to share;
- submit false, misleading or defamatory material, or impersonate anyone;
- interfere with the site’s operation or access data you are not authorised to see.
Your submissions
When you submit evidence, you confirm that it comes from public sources and that you are entitled to share it. You give Equal Standard a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to review, edit, summarise and publish it as part of the archive. We decide what to publish and may decline any submission without giving reasons.
Links to other sites
We link to original sources and official agencies. We are not responsible for the content of other sites.
Liability
The site is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, Equal Standard is not liable for loss arising from use of, or reliance on, information on this site.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will show the date of the latest change on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
