Corrections

Corrections and
right of reply.

If we got something wrong, or left out context that matters, we want to know. Anyone can ask, including the people we write about.

Our corrections policy

We correct factual errors, misquotations, wrong dates or sources, and missing context that changes how a record should be read. When we correct a record:

  • The record is updated and marked Corrected.
  • A dated note on the record says what changed.
  • The change is added to the corrections log on this page.

We do not silently edit published records. If a record no longer meets our editorial standards, it is withdrawn and, where appropriate, replaced with a short notice explaining why.

Right of reply

People and institutions named in a record can send a response. Where it is relevant and on the record, we add it to the record’s Response section, or summarise it fairly. A response does not need to come with a correction request.

Removal requests

You can ask us to remove a record, for example where it identifies a private individual or puts someone at risk. Tell us which record and why. We review every request and explain our decision.

No corrections yet

Corrections to published records will be listed here, newest first, with the date and what changed.

Request a correction

The online request form opens before public launch. It will ask for the record’s address, what you believe is wrong, and any supporting source. You will not need an account.
